Young Educator Travel Award

     A Young Educator Travel Award is proudly offered to encourage young educators from abroad to participate in the FAOPS2019 & ADInstruments Teaching Workshop.

     Applicants must submit an abstract as the presenting author for the poster session, upload in addition to submission of personal documents, and send the registration fee, which unfortunately will not be waived.

     Participation and contribution of young educators in the workshop as well as in ALL education situations, are vital for the workshop and education to be effective, active and even enjoyable. All of us on the organizing committee look forward to seeing you at Kobe!

◆Eligibility　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

Applicants whose primary residence is not Japan must:
　
1. register for the FAOPS2019 & ADInstruments Teaching Workshop through the website during the advanced registration period (Oct. 1, 2018 – Feb. 28, 2019,12:00 noon, Japan Standard Time).


2. be 45 years old or younger on April 1, 2019.


3. be an undergraduate/pre-doctoral student, or a postdoctoral/research fellow who is not currently enrolled in the tenure-track program. Lecturers who do not have any doctoral degree but are mainly involved in teaching, are also encouraged to apply.


4. submit an abstract for the poster session as the presenting author. Be sure to check the box that you are applying for the Young Educator Travel Award.


5. upload a complete set of required materials (listed below) on your abstract submission page by the deadline of Oct. 25 Nov 10, 2018, 12:00 noon, Japan Standard Time.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE REGISTRATION FEE WILL NOT BE WAIVED FOR RECIPIENTS OF THE TRAVEL AWARD.

At the time of abstract submission, applicant should upload the following PDF

1. biography/CV


2. copy of the passport or photo ID, in which applicant’s photograph is included.


3. official letter of recommendation from the department head of your institution.

If you do not upload your PDF application materials by Oct. 25 Nov 10, 2018,12:00 noon Japan Standard Time, your abstract will be handled as a general abstract, not as a Young Educator Travel Award candidate abstract

◆Range of support　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

A partial support for travel/accommodation expenses (JPY 30,000) is awarded.

Please note that the registration fee will not be waived for Young Educator Travel Award recipients

◆Selection criteria　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

Applications will be reviewed by the Local Committee of the FAOPS2019 & ADInstruments Teaching Workshop, based on the quality of the submitted abstract.

The number of recipients is contingent upon the availability of funds and the number of applications.

◆Notification of the result　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

All applicants will be notified whether he/she will/will not receive a Young Educator Travel Award by Nov. 10, 2018. Recipients should complete the registration by the end of advanced registration period, Feb. 28, 2019, 12:00 noon, Japan Standard Time.

IMPORTANT!
If the recipient does not register for the FAOPS2019 & ADInstruments Teaching Workshop by Feb. 28, 2019, 12:00 noon, Japan Standard Time, the Young Educator Travel Award will be cancelled.

◆Additional information　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

The Certificate of the Young Educator Travel Award will be emailed to all award recipients. The local committee can also support Japanese visa application for recipients upon request. The Secretariat of FAOPS2019 can also provide housing information when necessary. Please note, however, WE CANNOT SUPPORT A TRANSIT VISA APPLICATION FOR OTHER COUNTRIES. .
